The passing of Cassandra Elizabeth Funk (née Krieger), affectionately known as “Sandi,” on July 21, 2026, has brought profound sorrow to her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her passing, alongside her beloved dogs, Edna and Valerie, has made this loss especially heartbreaking for all who cherished them.
Sandi was admired for her warmth, generosity, and remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed and valued. Whether spending time with loved ones, supporting friends through life’s challenges, or caring for the animals she adored, she lived with genuine compassion and selflessness. Her love for animals was a defining part of her life, reflecting the tenderness and empathy she extended to both people and pets alike.
She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Elaine and Al Krieger; her brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Viktoriia Krieger; her treasured nephew, Henry; her grandmother, Margaret Krieger; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cochin Community Hall on August 22, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life and enduring legacy. In keeping with her lifelong love for animals, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to a local animal shelter in her memory.
